Kaila Love was born and raised by her great-grandmother in the Bay Area, CA. She started rapping at age 14, to impress a boy in high school and never stopped. Rapping helped her deal with her struggles from becoming a homeless teen, to becoming the first in her family to graduate college when she received her Bachelors in Political Science from UC Berkeley. Since then, she’s performed hundreds of shows across the United States, released three EPs, earned an Associates Degree in Recording Arts, and is recently had her latest single, "Half Time" featured on ESPN.
Kaila's style can be described as smooth West Coast rap with a hint of hyphy, a sprinkle of soul, and a lot of storytelling. Releasing a single every week is a chance to test out different sounds and see what sticks so currently, the sound is always changing.
Kaila Love seeks to inspire and empower others through her music, especially women.
